There have been a few requests for nmake (which I believe was part of
the Microsoft C dist). I'm not an expert, but ...
1. The makes from MS ver 5 are very incomplete (useless, in my opinion).
Apparently nmake is much better.
2. ndmake from Kneller (now released as commercial product opusmake) is
available at simtel20.army.mil (in pd1:<msdos.c> (?)). I was a
registered user of ndmake 4.5 and liked it very much.
3. GNU make is now available for os2 (ver 3.6?). A msdos port of 3.58 is
in the GNUish project at simtel or wuarchive. I have not tested.
4. dmake 3.8 was recently posted on comp.binaries.os2. It is a bound ver
(so it runs under DOS or OS2). I'm currently testing, and so far I
like it very well. But I have not tested the more advanced features.
