Subject: multiple go32 under DesqView
Status: O

I don't own or use DesqView myself, but it seems to me one potential
problem about running multiple copies of go32 under DesqView is running
out of memory. Under QEMM, go32 will allocate all the 640k memory it
can, and then start allocating VCPI memory page by page, but there's no
provision for releasing VCPI memory if another go32 wants it. So, if
you're trying to run two copies of demacs at once, perhaps you should
find out how much memory the first copy will grab.

This doesn't address the keyboard lock-up issue at all, and I repeat, I
don't own or use DesqView/QEMM, so this is all pure conjecture on my
part. I have a question: does DesqView/QEMM relocate the vectors for
IRQ0-IRQ7? Go32 does, but it doesn't check to see if they've already
been relocated.

BTW, if you're using DesqView/QEMM you don't want to use my patch to
permit joint VCPI/XMS allocation. I hope that's clear.
